Creative Process
The process takes time...
Catherine creates all the illustrations and designs herself. She aims to capture as many details in each flower or foliage as possible. A specimen will be studied closely, ideally she would have it in front of her to be able to fully appreciate it. Catherine also takes LOTS of photos of plants so has a huge archive of reference photos that she's built up over the years, thanks to her love for all things plants.
"This part of the process is very traditional, and is purely just me, the plant a pencil and a pen. That's it. My favourite part."
All illustrations are then scanned and digitally coloured using lots of various brushes and layers in Photoshop. Design layouts and repeat patterns are then created for all our products.
All products are designed, made, packed and shipped from right here in the UK, from our little home studio in Cardiff, Wales. We use environmentally friendly sources wherever possible which includes FSC certified stocks, recycled papers and vegetable based inks.
